Former Attorney General Zoeller Donation to Support Indiana Bar Foundation Mission
Will Aid Youth Education, Access to Justice in Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Bar Foundation (Foundation) received a $10,155.19 donation from the remaining campaign funds of outgoing Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller on December 30, 2016, that will be used to support the Foundation's civic education and civil justice mission.
"We are grateful that the Attorney General chose to further youth education and access to justice with this donation," said Charles Dunlap, executive director of the Foundation. "The timing of this gift is critical to our ability to continue to expand the reach of our large civic education programs including the We the People and Indiana High School Mock Trial programs."
"Attorney General Zoeller has been a long-time supporter and volunteer for the Foundation's many civic education and civil justice projects and this significant donation is yet another way he continues to support the Foundation's mission. We are incredibly appreciative of his continued support," said Dunlap.
Zoeller, who served as Indiana's Attorney General since 2009 is a native of New Albany, Indiana, and has spent much of his career in public service. He previously served as chief deputy to his predecessor, Steve Carter and also served in both the U.S. Senate and the White House with Dan Quayle.
"It has been my highest honor to serve as Indiana's Attorney General and this contribution concludes my public service while continuing my support of the legal profession through the Indiana Bar Foundation's work, Zoeller said. "l encourage others in the legal profession to consider supporting the Indiana Bar Foundation and its vital work in civic education."
The Foundation promotes increasing access to justice and understanding of the rule of law statewide. Programs such as the network of pro bono and civil legal aid providers and civic education include We the People: the Citizen and the Constitution and the Indiana High School Mock Trial program, which the Foundation assumed responsibility for in 2014.
