Indiana We the People Summer Institute
July 9-13, 2017 on the Campus of Indiana University, Bloomington
The Indiana We the People Summer Institute brings upper elementary, middle and high school teachers together to interact with constitutional scholars and mentor teachers to learn about government and the Constitution and Bill of Rights. The Institute is sponsored by the Indiana Bar Foundation.
The We the People program promotes civic competence and responsibility among Indiana’s upper elementary and secondary students. The We the People textbook’s and ebook's relevant content and student exercises encourage interactive classroom strategies making teaching and learning exciting for both students and teachers. The simulated congressional hearing serves as an excellent performance-based assessment. In addition, the We the People program is aligned with government social studies standards and enhances written argument development and critical reading of non-fiction sources.
Teachers will receive complimentary:
- classroom set of We the People textbooks or eBooks
- classroom resources
- teacher library worth $75
- 32 hours of professional growth points (PGPs)
